Mr. Chan was born in Canton, China. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hong Kong, a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a doctoral degree from the University of Michigan.

As principal of Asia Marketing and Management, James Chan has contributed more than fifty articles on trade with Asia for many publications including The New York Times, Publishers Weekly, LOGOS Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, the U.S. Medical and Healthcare Marketplace Guide, Export Today and The China Technology Market News.
